I just bought the first volume of Exploring Hero yesterday. It was pretty fun. During the battle with Ben, Kevin absorbs Upgrade's power and turns into a pseudo-Mechomorph. This form really creeps me out. A human arm left? Eww... He also possesses a giant steam locomotive and shoots burning coals at Upgrade. But it seems this power drains a large amount of energy from him since he fell unconscious after Ben removed him from the train. Well, an Osmosian cannot fully use the superpower absorbed after all:/

In my opinion, Kevin was more like an antihero in this comic book. He doesn't look as evil and insane as the Kevin from OS. Although he caused a massive chaos and refuses to be on Ben's side at the end of the story, he hesitates to kill a person, helps Ben after his rival saved his life, keeps his word to Ben, and just disappears without attacking his enemy. Compared to the episodes "Kevin 11" and "Grudge Match", this is a huge change.

Seriously, he looks like AF Kevin in an 11-year-old boy's body. The comic books constantly emphasizes that Ben and Kevin were friends and Kevin still has a good heart--even though he doesn't admit it. Ben and Gwen mention that he has changed and wish him to be their friend again. Perhaps the author was aware of Alien Force when wrote the story. The color of Gwen's mana is pink just like AF, so I think he really was.
