You know this actually reminds me of a movie called THE THIRTEENTH YEAR where a young boy starts going through changes after his thirteenth birthday. In the end he gets the single fishtale but its stil a nice movie. Great work with the detail

It's corny, but I can honestly say that's what got me into drawing mers in-depth, and eventually led me to who owns

I really like the spots on his shoulder, arms, and legs. That and faded blue really helps to limit the contrast from his fins to the rest of his body; otherwise the progression of the change wouldn't look natural. Unfortunately, he only looks mildly shocked by his change, it would make more sense for him to be truly horrified. Is he supposed to be fully transformed, or is the change only partially complete?

It reminds me of the scene in the HP GOF movie where Harry uses the gillyweed in terms of the style. But you did a great job.

Micheal Phelps is a US Olympic Swimmer. Often joked about actually being a merman due to his very strong swimming and a recent photoshoot for Disney where he donned a merman tail.
