not sure about the orbs and stars but I really like the rest of it. Did you use illustrator for this?

Well illustrator is more suited towards straight vector projects, drawing shapes etc. When I need to do something from scratch (like a logo) I'll use illustrator because it speeds up the work flow.

I agree about the background colour though. Personally, I think a lighter colour would compliment it better
