Exactly. Happy but introspective. It actually started out as a totally different painting and then the hands too over.

i have paintings ive started and never finished.they just sit there wondering if there going to get done.i look at them and wonder,what was i thinking.i wont ever paint over them.thats like trying to change a person so that they fit your needs.

I disagree to some extent. Now, I usually get a second opinion before I "re-do" a painting. Some of my best work would have been painted over on a whim. But there have been many that just didn't do it for me, so I put white paint over it (should have used Gesso - I will from now on) and treated it like a new canvas. Unfortunately, I sometimes use tools and the marks remain. I have always finished what I started, I am one of those people who hates loose ends. But I know people who leave work unfinished for a while until they are inspired to either finish the theme or take it in a new direction. So, if you wonder "What was I thinking", why won't you paint over them?

your right.i keep my moods in tunnel vision.the painting i dont finish,reminds me of the mood i was in.and it reminds me,see what crap you paint when your in the wrong mood?i will try to paint over one and see what happens.thanks.

Thanks! Actually, the "blurry" look was intensional. It was meant to give it an undercurrent.
