This started about a week ago after I began to read more about the lore behind Garrosh. At first It was just a sketch of Garrosh and for the longest time I could not figure out what type of background I wanted. With Hellscream taking up the throne in Cataclysm and Thrall's hall being demolished (sadly), I wanted to create a picture that still held a scene from old Orgrimmar (mostly for my own memories). I love how, now that he is a badguy, the picture still nails his character. Β He was always sinister, and the lighting and anger is still front and center.

I dont agree with his Racism towards the other Horde Races, but i gotta admit, i love his Axe & Shoulders. I want them

He has the look of a warchief but his personality is beyond repair lol. I have to agree about the shoulders and (his father's) axe, they have to be my favorite my favorite pieces of the character design.

Hi i've just started up by getting a tablet and some software ( Artrage 2.6, Sumo and Livebrush, ) Have you got any tips on making colour look realistic like you hve done here ? Mine just looks like block colour :S

All I can say is experiment and always try to reconize the secondary (3rd and 4th in some cases) colors, not just the primary colors. A leaf isn't just green, there are shades of blue as well. I'm still novice at best with coloring, just take your time and enjoy the ride.

I didn't care for him at first either, mainly because he was taking Thrall's place. After I read the lore and a few pages on his part in Cata, he kinda grew on me. Thank you very much for the kind words!

Thank you very much for the flattering commentary! Honestly, the coloring was what took the longest because it was my first real attempt at a fully animated scene. It was also what I looked forward to the most after the line-work was done. As far as our new warchief goes (on a personal level), I really love how intense he is about the Alliance relationship. Orcs, for longest time after we came through the portal from outlands were the slaves of humans, (treated like dirt and kept in filthy internment camps, ontop of battling Gul'dan's pact with the demons in his lust for power) so my Horde heart REALLY looks forward to getting in some revenge time on them. FOR THE HORDE!

Agreed! I read all the Horde literature I could this summer, and it really has made my gaming experience that much more interesting. On top of the orcs' history, Varian and Garrosh have been butting heads at almost every turn. 'Here's to hoping for an epic battle between them. >

Thank you for the kind words and I hope everything goes well with your Worgen! Thrall has always been more passive about alliance relations than the hot headed Garrosh in the past but as much as I would like to see Thrall stay on the throne he has more important matters to deal with in Cataclysm and there's no changing the future but I think things will work out once the sting is gone.

Garrosh is one of those characters I both love and hate. I would totally give the old Horde battlecry, but I've defected to Gilneas.
This is one awesome picture. There's a lot of power and character to both Garrosh, and the background. Brilliantly done!
