Description
This was intended for the 100 Theme Challenge, with the theme "Eyes". This took me around an hour, I guess. So it's not intended to be to polished. The light isn't exactly symmetrical, so her features might look a bit off...Originally this wasn't anyone, it was just a pair of eyes, but of course I had to make a backstory for her. It wasn't as if I didn't have a place for her in one of my worlds...
So, this is the snow goddess of Niaro. It can seem quite pointless to have a goddess only for snow (apart from the fact that snow itself can create quite life-threatening situations for people), but Niaro's history explains it.
Moreover, when the story starts, she's actually dead.
But not later on. And that sounds like a really bad story, but there is a sensible motivation for it. I promise!

Beautiful, just like all your eyes are, of this there is no doubt.
It's the irises. The thing I love about the way you paint eyes is the myriad of colours you always use, but these... they're just a tad too monochrome for my tastes. O_o Maybe if you tried using a different colour (say, light peach, to match the rest of the picture) for a few of the highlights and a very dark green or brown for the shadows, the irises would look more natural and balanced with the picture? Maybe you should give it a try.
Aside from this semi-constructive nitpick, LOVELY picture.
Oh, and the hair, I'm afraid there's another nitpick. There isn't anything wrong with it other than the fact that it looks just like hair in most of your pictures does - except those pictures usually weren't close-ups. So in a close-up like this, it would make sense if the visible hair consisted of individual, relatively thick strands rather than smooth locks. Real hair is rarely that smooth, anyway. ^^'

I knew there was something wrong, but I just couldn't for the life of me figure out what it was. You're absolutely right, the eyes are way too monochrome. I guess I was just focusing on "she's got to have REALLY blue eyes" and forgot the rest of the colours.
You're absolutely right about the hair as well, maybe I'll even get around to fixing it
