WARNING This comic, along with any future sequels, is set in an alternate universe where Amon is who he said he was in the first place. Where Amon is simply... Amon. It's a variant I would like to keep exploring.
BEHOLD. The most epic artwork I've ever done. D:
This took about what? Two weeks and a half? I think it's appropriate that it's set during nighttime, seeing as I had to stay up insanely late for several nights to finish colouring this.
It's the first time I actually coloured one of my comics. It was worth the effort, though. I think it looks good.
ALSO, CAN YOU BELIEVE I ACTUALLY DREW A BACKGROUND WITH A SETTING? I have my friend ~artjunkie18 to thank for the suggestion.
Amon's line at the end is what started all this. It spontaneously popped into my mind and it just seemed like a very fitting thing for him to say to her. This comic doesn't have to read as shipping comic (I love Amorra, but I believe that Asamon makes much more sense, for a variety or reasons). I just thought it would be interesting to have these two interact. Also, wouldn't Asami have needed to get some of her stuff before moving in on Air Temple Island? So this is not unlike a deleted scene (and what the heck, if it brings a few people on this deserted little ship I'm on, why not!) Why is Amon doing this? Is it part of some kind of evil scheme? Does he want to use Asami to get information about Korra? Or he is just a big flirt? WHO KNOWS.
Oh Amon. I think I have finally got him right. He's so hard to draw. But he looks DASHING in every panel, doesn't he?
What a seducer.As for Asami, I was strongly influenced by Leiji Matsumoto's style. Nobody draws prettier girls than him. He's awesome. <3
Forgive the little imperfections if they offend your eyes, but I thought I'd keep them for a little more character. ISWEAR.
Overall, the intention was to make this dark and rather creepy, with a touch of sexiness in it. Because that's what Amon's like, amirite?

This is really cool! Asami is the only member of the new Team Avatar who encountered Amon, so I find this interaction satisfying. And I don't think the canon backstory makes much difference, he could still try to pull a guilt tactic like that line.

Yeah, I think he would have been very likely to appeal to her emotions. That's pretty much what he did to push his ideology. Appealing to people's emotions and taking advantage of them. Telling his followers about how he was wronged by firebenders, telling non benders that they should be equal to benders, as though they weren't already, in human worth. He was a great manipulator.

As much as I DID like the revelation of who Amon was (don't hold it against me, personally I was glad Amon's story wasn't the Batman cliche Mako's was) I also like exploring the idea that he was who he said he was. Both are fascinating, in different ways.

Heh, yes, 'tis alright. They might not be entirely logical (although I think Amon would much rather go for a non-bender than a bender, and that their similar stories -- family getting killed by firebenders -- make them more likely to have something to share), but there's lots of potential for creepiness.
And yes I saw that episode! It was my favourite!
