Trying something a little different with my manips...a full scene with background and characters "acting" rather than just "posing", like those I'm used to in my fairy tales and other Batman manips.

The idea here is to make something a little closer to a movie still. Not sure I did it right, but I'm rather satisfied with the result, being it my first time and all.

I've been wanting to do a Oracle + Nightwing pic for a while so...I'm also doing a regular drawing of the two anyway.

I love them together. They're so freaking adorable. I never really paid much attention to Oracle until very recently, since I only really read "classic" Batman stuff when I was a kid and got into the newer stuff only over the past couple of years. But now they're one of the reasons I keep reading, I love them THAT much! And although Dick is a shameless man-whore, I know they'll end up together (and if they already did...or didn't...don't tell me! I'm still missing the last year of Batman issues and I don't want to be spoilered )

The base for the pic was a Birds of Prey TV series shot with gorgeous Dinah Meyer as Babs staring into the eyes of random love interest #1. Linda Cardellini and Ian Somerhalder (although you can hardly see it's him), my personal casting choices, were used for the heads. Nightwing's costume is an elaborate re-working of several pieces of Robin's suit from Batman & Robin. The Batgirl puppet is a VERY time-consuming rielaboration of a Batgirl bobble-head doll. The background is a composition of three different promotional shots from Birds of Prey. What you see on the monitor in the middle is a map of Gotham City from, I think, the No Man's Land storyline.
