Thank you! I was feeling rather sympathetic for the bad guys in this fandom, and decided they could use a hand ^_^

why, thank you! Characters are OCs based on the Storm Hawks universe, and the claw in the background is their squadron's symbol/sigil. I actually made the Claw design first, and then thought it would be a really cool squadron symbol and designed the characters around that central idea ^_^

The Crystal Gauntlet is pretty nifty ^_^ keep an eye out...hopefully I'll get a more action-y pic of Galen and the Gauntlet up in a few weeks

Whoa, I'm loving the raptor twins! Preen and Phlex- aaaaaah I get it I get it, that's so cool, I mean, you mean, "preen" as in to preen in the mirror and "phlex" = "flex" like muscles, right?
I've often thought about creating a scientific character who could create guns by miniaturizing cannon technology. *sigh* ah well, if you don't use an idea right away it's bound to get snatched up.
I want more information on this weapon Galen has....
*thumbs up* They are awesome villains!

*grin* thanks! Glad you like them ^_^ I'm also particularly fond of the raptors...I just couldn't stand to give them 'snot' names like Repton's family has.
And no reason you can't also have a science character...I mean, every squad needs someone to repair their machines and weapons, so I took it for granted that everyone has someone like that. For the first-gen Windwolves it was Buzz, and second-gen had both Goss and Lanner capable of techy-stuff...with the Crimson Claws being bad guys, it just made sense that their tech dude would be more focused on weaponry and instruments of destruction!
The Crystal Gauntlet, like the Manica held by the Windwolves, can channel multiple crystals to either create combo effects from different kinds of crystals, or extremely powerful techniques from similar element-types. But where the Manica is primarily meant for defense, the Gauntlet is definitely an offensive piece of equipment. Not one for subtleties, Galen has packed every slot with fire-type crystals - blazars, inferno crystals, and the main slot holds a rare nova crystal. Galen enjoys hand-to-hand combat with it, since it has both sharp claws and a concentrated 'burning fist' ability, causing his prey burn damage with almost every strike, but a secondary ability allows him to turn anything he holds in that hand - from a sword to a piece of debris - into a fire-type weapon. Its final ability that he has unlocked is the classic 'fireball' - a combined burst from several of the fire crystals into a potent and long range ball of seething flame. There are other techniques, but luckily he hasn't discovered them yet.

*grin* I don't see why not...they do tend to piss almost everyone off through their piracy, and they've been most places in Atmos. But they're good enough that people are willing to swallow their anger and hire them as mercenaries to target someone else if the need arises. So it's entirely likely that they've caused various OCs some sort of trouble, if only indirectly by hitting ships from someone's home terra. Or stepped on other villains' toes with their casual arrogance!

oooooh...now there's a thought ^_^
Preen, with her mastery of Flora and Fauna crystals, poisons and antidotes, would be a good match for Plague/Pestilence...Phlex, of course, would be matched against War. Skirr, being the scrawny one, would have to tangle with Famine...and of course Galen would fight Death.
Of course...there isn't a lot of reason for them to fight, really. The Claws are more than happy to see strife and suffering throughout the Atmos. Not because they're inherently evil (although that may play some part...) but because as mercenaries, conflict is good for business. Your Four are inadvertently helping the Claws, and Galen is smart enough to know this. He'd have absolutely no reason to accept a contract to fight his breadbaskets. Except *snicker* for the cause of Love and Justice!!!! ...and I just don't see that happening with him.
Now, if the Four went from general mayhem to actually posing a direct and imminent threat to ending the Atmos - and therefore business opportunities - that might force the Claws to join forces with the good guys in order to stop them, which could put them on the path to redemption.
*grin* but they have many more dirty deeds to do before that time comes!

*chuckle* add one more to the fandom!
It took me a while to get used to the art...and eventually you do get tired of having the Storm Hawks always win against adults with years more experience and training...but meh. It's a kids' show. And the premise and technology are pretty damn cool!
I'm not really a fan fiction reader myself...but sometimes, with shows like these, the fanfiction can be better than some of the episodes. It might be worth checking into, if you like the world and characters ^_^

The artist in me dies by pieces every time I watch it, but being a fan of very old and poorly animated animes I can live with it. I love the technology of the series and I'm going to be chasing plot bunnies for weeks after this. ^_^ I'll have to check the fanfiction now.
Why is it the kids shows seem to have so much appeal now? I'm seeing that pop up more and more.

mm...some of it is probably nostalgia factor...and some of it is probably related to the fact that a good geek never grows up ^_^
Plus, a bunch of the 80s geeks are all grown up now, working in Hollywood and for various networks. They've got all the nostalgia for the good old days, but have realized just how bad those old shows were. So they've set their sights on making kids shows that are a whole lot better, with jokes their own generation can enjoy and sometimes even multiple layers for multiple age groups. Of course, they're stuck within network limits, which is why shows like Storm Hawks have incredible potential for complex and darker story lines, but will never pursue them...since the network see it as aimed at the pre-teen/tween male group, and they won't do anything to alienate the parents of that age group, or risk writing a plot line that could go over the wee lads' heads.
Hence the need to depend on fanfic *wince* however painful it might be to find the true jewels in the rough.

That might explain it. You've got shows like Avatar and Storm Hawks running around and it's no small wonder the older group almost seems to like them more than the younger. Granted, some of the old cartoons weren't all that bad, copious amounts of cheese aside. I spaz out every time I see a new Transformers toy in Wal-Mart and I nearly had a heart attack when my brother showed up last night with a Cheetor toy.
I'm sure Storm Hawks can't compete with Harry Potter and TMNT on bad fanfiction, though. The things I've read can make the eyes bleed.
