Very interesting, and very stimulating words. I wrote a long long message half an hour ago, but it suddendly blew away, each time it happens I wonder where all these lost words go... I got very nervous, but here am I again, always with my poor old rusty english...
To develop an IDEA before thinking at all the rest (composition, presentation, colour, form...) , could seem for many people a very obvious thing, so I think one should explain it in another way : The shape or FORM of an IDEA is much more important than its final result on ... canvas. But be careful when you explain all this , because in a way it may seem as if you denigrate your work, while it's exactly the contrary. This concept is not very easy to be understood. I always think at the same thing !! For painters of such thought the REAL unique work is studying, searching, analizing, describing the whole ABSOLUTE IDEA, nothing else than the essence of IDEA , while all the rest comes in a second moment and is much less interesting and important. So IDEA wins on FORM. But....REAL ART should be this : to be capable of putting together both of them, in perfect harmony and balance.
Brava Melanie ! I love your work, I'll come back because I want to feature you

Melanie - I am sorry I do not agree with you! You are so-ooooo much better than a process artist! Your images are not important for their process - they are important because you are capable of producing deeply moving and original images like these!! Be proud of your skills and forget the fashionable art speak!
I love this painting - it is so moving, deep and complex! Well Done!!
