Some people linked to me news that the 'Spartan' browser may be supporting chrome /chrome-like extensions. This is what I imagined what would happen

It's Microsoft Edge (codenamed Spartan), a replacement for IE to be used in Windows 10. Essentially Microsoft created a new evergreen browser from scratch to handle day to day browsing and kept IE for legacy systems such as intranets written for old versions of IE.
