Description Just a peaceful moment between Ted and Andromeda right before summer holidays. I had fun with this, especially her figure.

I had originally intended to use this as my entry for the contest at , but I missed the entry date due to issues with my computer. Ah well.

The annoying thing, though, is that I remembered this picture being much better than it is. I hate it when that happens.

Ted Tonks and Andromeda Black (c) JK Rowling

Media:
- 2H pencil
-Staedtler inking pens (01)
-Touch and Faber-Castell colored markers.

I love them too! I've actually got plans to do a comic about how they meet and get together and everything. It's going to be fun.

Thanks! I'm glad you like it. It really drives me crazy because, like, I'll go back to stuff and be like, 'oh, well, that sucks.' SO ANNOYING.

Thank you! It's going to be interesting, to say the least. I've never done a full-length comic before.

Staedtler for the WIN! You used a .1? Ugg, I could only ever use as low as a .3, my favorite was the .7 but it was hard to get good detail with it.

This comment got removed from my messages some how...

I use mostly .3, but at the time mine was broken, so I had to use the .1, which i like too, but not for whole pictures. Generally, I use the .3 and the .1 and sometimes the .05 if I need little details.

I don't think I ever actually owned anything below a .1. Like I said, my fav was the .7, I used that for exterior lines on my linearts!

Oh yeah. I had an .8 that I used to use for outlining kind of... borders and stuff.

Her figure is perfect! That's actually why I clicked on this picture I think cuz even seeing the thumbnail I though it looked really good, lol.

I'm sorry you missed the deadline, this would have been an awesome entry!

Thanks! I'm so happy that you like it. I think I got the mood right, but I wish I could go back in and fix some things (curse markers!). Thank you, though.

I wish I could've entered too, but I had to render this movie I've been making and it took days, so... yeah...

Hehe, at least you can use markers. Every time i try and color anything traditionally i end up with a mess

I find I have more control with traditional media, probably because I don't have a great deal of practice with digital stuff, though I've been trying lately.

I always hear people complain about doing the actual drawing bit digitally, but I actually really like it lately. So much easier to erase if you mess up, lol.

Well, I have familial tremors (not very serious ones, but it comes from my dad's side of the family) and I have a lot of trouble drawing with the tablet because it take my shake and makes it look about fifty times more obvious. It's annoying, but I've been trying to practice lately. I think any kind of media--traditional, digital, etc.--takes a long time to use right. If you're worried about your use of traditional media, just practice. I've been experimenting in acrylics and it's taking a long time to get used to.

Yeah, my tablet makes my lines look shaky too sometimes, and that's without any sort of shaking on my part >.< I just need to figure out the pen tool or something, it'd help, lol.

I'm just terrified of massing up the things I've drawn. I'd print copies if i had ink....

I know what you mean about messing up. I think the key really is just loads of practice and a clear head, because using a new medium can be frustrating and it won't (unless you have fantastic beginner's luck) ever turn out the way you expected the first time.

Lol, I suppose that's true. My digital coloring wasn't super the first time either, no reason to assume anything else will be any easier

Exactly. It's difficult with anything new. )
