Description I do go to church sometimes but it has a tendency to make me mad when I do. I find that pastors like to use their positions of authority to hold political sway, and issues like human rights are trampled on in the name of preserving the political power of the church.

The doctrine of "love your neighbor" is sound but that's not what these churches are preaching. More often than not it's more a matter of money and political gain than it is of actually following the doctrine and helping other people.

The pastors and church leaders responsible for this make me very upset. They're preaching love and spreading hate. They're nothing but wolves in sheep's clothing.

Maybe you've just not found the right light. I was reading books about false prophets and from this description they fit the bill.

There certainly are a lot of them. I find that they're easier to avoid if you filter them by how much they ask for money.

Were you taking inspiration from the traditional mediaeval representation of corrupt priests?

Yep! Old timey political caricatures are the best.

There was this really cool book about comics and dreams, done entirely in stippling. I can't recall the name at the moment.

Thank you! I drew this all in stippling, with a .005 black micron pen.

Don't let your fellow church-goers keep you from God. And remember that even wolves can be redeemed.[link]

But otherwise, anything that mixes up clergy and wolves gets my vote. They just compliment each other so well, like chocolate and nuts. Now we need a fox rabbi.

Haha, thanks. It's sad, there are many good churches out there but of course they aren't nearly as loud as the bad ones.

GalacticGoat In reply to CindarellaPop [2012-10-23 21:56:55 +0000 UTC]

Indeed :c silly loud hateful people. Its really too bad since so many people have just come to hate Christianity in general because of the loud ones. Their hate against the loud ones is completely justified, they really do deserve all the aggression they get in response to their hateful attitudes, but what isn't fair is the entire faith be evaluated on the grounds the louder members are assholes.

And now you know why I don't much like churches despite having no problem with Christianity itself :/ if I remember even Jesus warned Christians to watch out for this garbage. Anyway you need to find a church that isn't made of suck, they exist apparently D: just not that easy to find.
