Italy - summer 2008.

Taken during the same mountain trip as the "Shelf" which you can find in my gallery. It is basically the end point of Via Ferrata Maria Bianchi which leads to the summit of Cima di Mezzo (3154 m.) (Cristallo group - near Cortina d'Ampezzo) - and this is what you can see above.

Catching the bird in his first stages of flight was more of an accident but in my opinion this motif completes the scene.

BTW. When we took a brief rest more of this birds appeared out of nowhere trying to get a piece of our victuals. Where they so familiar to tourism living on 3000 m. or was it just an instinct? Bloody pigeons!
