I'm probably not the first person to say this BUT...for some reason...this picture is pretty damn cool.

acrylic is pretty easy if u just practice yur ass off with it. i keep my paints wet at all times, while its pretty flexible, it can really fuck you if it dries too quickly while yur on another section. i bust all over the canvas, working with base colors on the key areas first then building up all the biggest tones then working down from there.

I dont think I would describe any medium as easy. It certainly is flexible though.

i agree that most mediums are never easy. but once u get the hang of acrylic then trust me its easy. like riding a bike every time u come back to painting

GOOD DEAL! Looks good, acrylic is more forgiving than watercolors as you can cover so much up with them. I still can't get that "painterly" feel to things with any type of paint so I am impressed with anyone who can.

Yeah, acrylic is much more flexible and versatile than watercolor. Opacity is pretty nice to have sometimes. It takes a different approach than what I'm use to with transparent mediums though.

I haven't used acrylics in forever, but they are a good time. Looking forward to seeing you use them more, and hope you have some fun with color!

Thanks. Yeah, the next one will have a bit more color in it and I'll hopefully figure out where I'm going with paint as I go.

You have such excellent control of your marker work it's going to be interesting to see how loose you can get with the paints. You may find a whole new side you never knew you had!

Thanks. That's what I'm hoping for. I don't want to just recreate what I do in markers.

Just keep in mind that acrylic paint dries annoyingly fast on the palette, so a good trick to do (if you don't have a stay-wet palette) is get a tupperware container and put damp paper towels in it and on top of that you put parchment paper. Then your paints go on the parchment paper and they stay wet for a long time!

Yeah, good advice. I learned that pretty fast. It dries REALLY fast hehe. I don't think it's a problem for me and my approach to painting, but as you say..on the palette you have to be vigilant. I'll probably get a "stay-wet". For this one, I kept sprinkling water on my styrofoam plate LOL.

This is really cool, man. I'm finding myself in the same position w/ my watercolors, and for the same reasons as you, I'm looking to dive back into more opaque painting after many years.

Thanks. You should definitely go for it. You can't know for sure until you try it.

This is really nice. I've also been afraid of painting. Although I have some experience with oils. I've never felt as comfortable as I do just drawing. I always get confused on color theory. I hear the better you draw though the better it helps you paint...because of understanding the values, which I also hear is far more important than what color you put down. I hope you keep experimenting. This is pretty good for your second acrylic painting since you were a 14 or 15.
