I will start at the 1-Kyu, which means I must be at least 14 years old in order to train..

But I'm practicing with my father at home.. So I guess when I start to train Kendo formally it would be pretty easy for me..

Well, it's the age requirement here to be at least 14 to train Kendo, But there in Germany? Five year old kids?? WOW!

yeah, there is no age requirement for kendo in Germany! I am really surprised to hear, that there is one in other countries!
