Thinking about Hyden and Milana’s ill-fated relationship. It wasn’t bad in the beginning. He was this larger than life character (literally) who allowed her into his exciting life of wealth and prestige and magic and was happy to have her as his partner in crime. He enjoyed her mischievous nature and wit and mean sense of humor that her family never really appreciated. Neither of them expected it to be anything serious or to really last beyond a fling. But against all expectations, it did last... just long enough for them to both think that maybe it could have actually worked out, and just long enough for it to hurt when it did inevitably collapse.
