Anyway, bit of story behind this piece, I was listening to this awesome song www.youtube.com/watch?v=MmpKDm… right after looking at this awesome piece fav.me/d8xg9tn and it got the gears in my head moving, thinking about military reunions.

From some of Lopoddity's writing we know that Cuppy joins the royal military to protect her princess, as well as for personal growth, and she gains some rank.

Well, this is where my headcannon starts.

So, Cupcake went through academy and eventually became Pandora's official guard, but between that she was active duty in the guard. Let's face it, Equestria is not always a safe place to live, some malevolent force threatened Equestria and they drafted their guards together to defend the kingdom. By the end of academy Cupcake had proven herself an apt warrior and strategic thinker, so she was drafted as well.

Pandora had handled her going of to train with some level of compose (she still acted the whiny baby but it wasn't out of hand), but when she was drafted Pandora freaked out, she tried to use her power as a princess as well as her chaos magic to keep it from happening, but Cupcake insisted on going, wanting to play a part in protecting her country and her loved ones. They get in a big fight and Pan doesn't even get a chance to say goodbye.

There's no contact between them while she's deployed, and Pan's pride gets in the way of her asking anyone else if they've heard from her. She starts to concoct all these scenarios in her head, imaging the worse, which was totally possible, it was a pretty bloody war. She can't stop feeling like she's lost the most important pony in her life, her best friend, her minion, her crush, the pony that lit up her life and understood her like no other.

After weeks of tantrums, brooding, crying, etc, she heard the war was over, but no word from Cupcake....

Then one night she hears a familiar voice behind her. "Hello Boss..."

If you wonder why it's different armor, its because in THIS picture, she's part of the Canterlot Royal Guard, representing Princess Twilight's division. In the future, she wears her armor that marks her as Princess Pandora's official guard.
