Beautiful portrait. I like the sketchy aspect. Lately, I've found that leaving some parts unpolished makes the drawings feel more alive.

Thank you for the comment. Its a tough thing to learn with ink drawings. How loose to be. Its a bit easier with pencil drawings because you can always erase some lines.

I actually didn't even realize you only used ink! It makes it even better

Well my drawings start with pencil, even if I ink over it. Most of the time I will erase the pencil, so only the ink remains.

I've never drawn on a tablet or digital media, but I think I use a similar process of doing things in stages. I sketch things out and then transfer drawings to bristol board using a Lightbox. I ink with pens and brushes, which are pretty permanent, but I can still use white out to male corrections. There's quite a few artists that do there preliminary drawings on a tablet then print out the sketch in order to ink their drawing with pens or brushes. But at the end of the day in comics, people only see the printed image, so it really doesn't matter how the image was made as long as what ends up being printed looks good.

There's a lot of tutorials on youtube with people showing how to print out the sketch as a blue line and inking over the blue line sketch. Theoretically, the blue lines don't show up when you scan the image. The scan should just pick up the black ink lines. I've tried it before and it works pretty well; mostly because you don't have to erase the pencil lines. But it is a little difficult to see what you're doing because the blue lines look odd. If you're not used to it I guess. But definitely worth looking into.
