            “Dad—I can’t breathe—” Rai gasped. Ordan summoned what strength he had in his weak body and sat himself up in his bed, arms extended. Rai bent over so that he could hide his face in his father’s chest like he used to as a child. Ordan pat his back with great comfort.
            “Everything will be alright, Rai. It will hurt, and it’s okay to cry, but when that’s done then you have to press on. Press on and remember that there are many people relying on you. Press on and know always that you are never alone. Our Creator brought you to us for a reason, and though you’ve had a hard road so far, I know you will continue to be the man He wants you to be. I pray that one day you’ll be able to stand with other Blood Dragons and lead us into peace.”
