Description
When I'm back in school, I'm a graphic designer for miscelaneous on-campus events. The Japanese Student Action Network puts on an authentic Japanese summer festival (natsu omatsuri) every August when everyone gets back to school. I was put in charge of the publicity for the event, and needed to come up with something that would: 1) Catch an american audience's eye 2) convey the Japanese-ness of the event 3) incorperate our school colors (blue and silver) and our school mascot (the wolf); and voila! This chick was created.The kanji was all drawn by hand in Photoshop (blegh), since my comp doesn't have a kanji-reader. The ones in the upper right corner read "Natsu O Matsu Ri" (Summer Festival) and the bottom right ones read "Ni Sen San" (2003). This isn't going to be the actual ad, I threw the background on there for display on deviantart.

this would be great ad (although i understand not wanting to use this particular bg - its a little busy and makes the kanji hard to see) - i'm a designer as well - will recieve my degree this coming spring, so I know how difficult projects like these are to do, but it seems like you followed the guidelines really well - I know this would catch my eye!
