Description Snow fell gently around me, whispering secrets to my frigid skin. My long white hair cascaded down my back and draped over the right side of my face like a curtain. Though that didn't stop my crimson eyes from seeing the boy in front of me. His shoulder length mahogany hair fell in a similar fashion to mine but his grey eyes hypnotized me with its charcoal ringlets. His black cloak adorned his shoulders while his hood stood propped up on his head. His mouth hung slightly agape though mine were just glued together. My delicate looking but intricate white dress was embellished with black lace and my fingerless gloves felt like silk. "W-Who......are you?" we asked simultaneously. I gasped and his eyes grew wide.
"Miyuki-nee-chan, why aren't you eating?" my younger sister, Akuma, interrogated. Her frilly pink dress filled my eyes and looked a trifle too bright and so I looked away. My parents were also staring at me since supper had started at least half an hour ago, yet I haven't even glanced at my food. I wasn't hungry yet my mind ached to stomach more fairy tales, daydreams, and frivolous thoughts.
"I-I'm not hungry," I whispered, just loud enough for my mother to hear me. I stood up carefully, making sure not to disrupt anything on the ornate table, set just for my birthday. Slowly and gracefully walking away, I traveled down the long corridors and stopped at my room. I took my key from my pocket and unlocked the door, keeping my eyes down the whole time, not wanting to see all the expensive antiques I owned while I knew that outside, children and parents were dying from starvation and careless ninja who thought that the innocent people were enemies. I entered the room hurriedly and turned around to lock the door. Finally I tiptoed over to the French doors on the other side of my monstrous bed, and unlocked it. I stepped onto the balcony that overlooked the garden, and while sitting down on the stone rail that kept any hasty people from walking off of the platform, I swung my legs over. Looking up at the full moon, I heard earsplitting cries. People outside of our gates were dying and I couldn't do anything about it...
The white flakes of snow continued to fall around us as we, unconsciously, walked towards each other. I noticed that he was at least three inches taller than me and was definitely a ninja. I was as well, though I probably wasn't as skilled. My hand raised at the same time that his did, and when our hands met, memories flooded back to our heads and played right before our eyes yet if anyone was watching us, they wouldn't see anything but two people staring at each other. "N-Nagato..........Is th-this really........you" I asked, trying to make sure that he was the right person that I was thinking about.
"M-M....iyuki.......," was all he said. What I did next certainly surprised my long ago friend, though I obviously didn't care. I launched myself straight into his arms and hugged him tightly. I began to cry due to not being able to see my best friend, my link to the outside world where when I was in my house, everything was kept a secret, for the past three years.

Bloodcurdling screams woke me from my daydreams. The boy: Nagato. I have no idea who he is, yet I was hugging him and crying. He seemed vaguely familiar but nonetheless, I don't know him. Though, I wasn't going to go on in life without figuring out who he was. I was walking back into my room to think about how long I should be gone and what kind of things I would do to obtain the clues I needed.
Yet, someone was waiting for me on my bed. Darius. my fiancée. It was an arranged marriage and I didn't like one bit of it. In fact, I hated Darius's guts and would have happily wrung his neck if it hadn't have been for my little sister. I knew perfectly well that I had to set a good example, so I was trained as a ninja in private. My poor four year old sister has already witnessed countless lives lost and was yet to be trained, but we could only spare her pitiful heart and soul. "What are you doing here, Darius?" I asked, hatred shadowing every word.
"What? Can't I see my beloved fiancée?"
"I don't see why not, by you could have at least told me first because one: you scared me half to death when I saw you, and two: I wouldn't have locked my door. Come to think of it.. How did you get in?" I asked narrowing my eyes. In response, Darius chuckled.
"I can't believe you fell for that. I heard that you are actually quite a clever kunoichi, but I guess that my resources were wrong, " the intruder replied, slowly melting into water and staining my white silk sheets. My heart sped up and sweat prickled my skin. I looked around and quickly spread my chakra. The air suddenly felt heavy and I knew the jutsu being used. I jumped out of the way just in time to escape the water prison jutsu that would've killed me. I was trained in holding my breath and swimming, but I was no good at it. I spun around, only to come face to face with the intruder. I looked at the headband on his forehead and noted that he was from the Hidden leaf. "You seem a bit better than a little red-headed boy whose parents I killed by accident. I didn't mean to, but I wasn't thinking. But your family deserves to die. You are just wallowing in money while everyone outside suffers," he spat in my face.
I glared at him and said in a quivering voice, "W-what have you done with my family?"
His lips curved up into a crooked smile. "They're all dead. My 'henchmen', you could say, killed them only a couple seconds after you left. I was sent to finish you off. In fact, you were supposed to be the first one killed, fast and painless, like a birthday present. Whereas your family was tortured in such a way, it would kill you instantly just by looking at them."
I hated this man. I was also scared to death, but I was used to this. My missions were always worse than this, having to fight and kill and occasionally torture the poor souls for information. But that was what being a shinobi was all about. While the man rambled on and on, I secretly reached  for my kunai and prepared myself to slit the man's throat and run. Ugh, men and their arrogance. I couldn't take it any longer and interrupted him midsentence by saying, "Lights out." and slit the guy's throat. But it was a water clone as well. I swore and dove for the emergency pack I kept under my bed. The murderer was somewhere but I couldn't tell where. I didn't even worry about it until the pack was securely on my body and the dress was ripped off my body to reveal my ninja clothes that would easily blend in with the country's dull colors.
I ran for my life and even applied chakra to my legs to make them go even faster. I didn't look back, yet I couldn't stop the tears that ran down my face. Everything appeared as a blur, partly because of the tears and secondly, the speed I was going at.  But I didn't care. My family was gone and all there was left for me in the world was my future and my death. I didn't have to worry about myself anymore since the cause of their death was me. In my rush, I tripped on a large rock and fell unconscious on the ground.

That's exactly the reason why I started writing this. I'm working on the second chapter right now, though.
