OH erm, in England sometimes we mean "thanks" when we say cheers in certain situations
I don't really know how that evolved... but yeah ^_^ just incase you didn't know (I know our slang differs a lot sometimes!)

I've had this conversation before. XD
American: Wanna catch a movie?
British man: Care to catch tonight's film?
American: Damn! There goes my windshield!
British man: Bloody hell! My windscreen is smashed!
American: Ugh......hungry, time for dinner.
British man: mmm.....hungry, time for tea.
American: There's food in the trunk
British man: There's food in the boot.
Such a difference. xD

Also a verb meaning stealing other's trousers.
