Im not 100% sure that I understood you properly, my English is not very good, sorry
For me personally this show was so so. There are only 2 reasons why I drew her: 1) she was very popular at some point (along with Akane) 2) I actually like her design (even if she was more like fanservice character) I didnt care about show itself and didnt even finished it. They did very good job with animation, backgrounds, characters designs, but story was very boring for me

but basically we said almost the same thing 
ah no, the only thing (maybe i wasn't very clear, sorry), was that i said she's not actually my nΒ°1 character design from the series: they are the katana guy and the iron jaw guy, and she comes third

oh wait you almost already said it in the description xD
never been a fan of mecha... but among my favourite and beloved series there are quite a bunch of em, and i feel that unique charm big bots have...
but Gridman... I dunno, it left me quite cold... a bunch of good ideas, a cg that wasn't eye gouging, some cool and retrΓ² coreography (i love the idea of animating the big guys like they were actually people in costumes, like in the old live action tv shows XD)Β
but i really think the two things that struck me more were some chara design
TBH my favourites are actually the metal jaw man design and on top of all the awesome katana clumsy guy (excalibur?), he seems he came out of a old Lupin III episode xD
but yeah, miss Takarada is a charm, great chara design (I've put the two other guys before because let's say it, it's not EASY to make a memorable chara design of a cute young girl, but it's easier than making memorable chara design of gritty unhappealing men
