EDIT: Didn't win the buddio, but hey I got a whole completed animation out of it! But THEN I got my own imp ;u; so I went back and editing him in instead, after doing most of the leg work before hand, colouring in a new design (since the silhouette didn't change) didn't take me nearly as long. Crazy huh

So... heeeeey!

This nearly killed me, but that's what I get for taking on a full 3 minutes of animation (foolishly shaded) while also balancing work and a strange amount of birthday parties and social events (why must it all be happening at once??) all within the span of 1 month. Definitely never spent this much time making something, so that's cool too

It's not even remotely as clean as I wanted and had I had more time (or no need for a job pff) then it would have been at least animated on 2's rather than this jumpy scrappy mess. Plus all the layers and frames meant that Clip Studio started stuttering so it falls out of time in places and I just could not line up the lip sync with the audio properly unless I rendered out every few seconds to correct 1 frame, repeat.

BUT ITS DONE and I am proud of that fact and if I win... totally worth all my limited spare time being consumed by this. I actually feel weirdly empty for what to do now?? but I have a long list of to-draw things that will fill that right in once my brain realises I don't have to return to the dreaded task of colouring and shading sooo many fraaaames. What started as a contest entry, turned into a personal challenge honestly, so take that me

Did I learn anything? Well I was reminded why I am a 3D animator, too bad my program license for that finally ran out or believe me this would have been 3D. I did learn I should probably suck it up and use vectors, there's a reason most 2D programs use it (to save time and screaming) so we'll see.
