I like how the style is reminiscent of old Medieval/early Renaissance engravings. It fits the subject matter very well.

Not a bad likeness, although wading through is not usually such a cheerful experience. Overall, not bad.

looks like a ballpoint pen to me...
but if it isn't, i agree, what is it?
anyway, this picture is pretty badass (to be technical, of course); i particularly love the people and how it doesn't have a background except for black and a swirling vortex of sorts. it's a perfect representation of the description, and the armor is both imaginative and very well done. awesome job.

I drew this with straedlater drawing pens. They aren't ballpoint, I think they are felt tipped.
