Description

Ainzee-ee-eelia was born aboard an arkship traveling between the stars at relativistic speed, fleeing the nova of a star now generations collapsed.  Her people and much of the animal life on their homeworld did not adapt well to multigenerational space travel.  Growing up, she showed a talent for investigation and trained to identify malcontents within their fragile society.

Moving at a high percentage of the speed of light is not without its dangers though, one of which ultimately doomed the habitat.  Ainzee, who was no child but not yet an adult by her people's standards, was stuffed into an escape pod by her parents, and vanished into the darkness of interstellar space.  Untold time passed for Ainzee in cryogenic suspension before the pod, still traveling at a high fraction of C, crashed into an alien planet.

She awakened on the shores of a warm, strange world ruled by creatures descended from primates.  Ainzee, whose homeworld was dominated by insect-like fauna, was horrified and yet fascinated.  The locals were too, but fortunately for Ainzee, she landed in one of the most diverse communities on the planet: Los Angeles.

Ainzee was declared an orphan, but her time in the California foster care system was short.  Spending her formative years at relativistic velocities means she is likely thousands of subjective years old, so she was promptly declared an adult.

She now uses the skills she built aboard the arkship as a private detective.  This is complicated, as her background makes her the celebrity poster-girl for diversity.  Thus, she sticks out, but this gives her insights into her adopted human society...

Cool

Why would an insectoid have breasts, though?

Good eye!  They're not breasts.  They're... uhhh... reservoirs for a particular organic substance that stores chemical energy.  They're kind of like camel humps, but they store something more like fat than water.
