The new Fate/Stay Night anime by ufotable has been out for about a month and I have been consistently watching it since then.And it is been MIND-BLOWING, I have thoroughly enjoyed it and waiting for more.
I have been a Fate fan since i watched the first anime back in high school.
And this series got me super hyped.
The anime tackles the Unlimited Blade Works route of the Visual Novel which differs from the other two routes Fate and Heaven's Feel.
This route is my favorite of the game because of its themes of existentialism, cynicism against idealism and many more.
My number 1 reason for liking this route is because of the Tsundereness of Tohsaka Rin one of the defining examples of the Tsundere Archetype.
I have watched the first anime, the first movie and played the game and this adaptation blows them all to hell and back because of its epicness.
I love the narrative, continuity, characters, voice-acting, action and animation.
They were all top notch, as expected from Studio ufotable who also adpated Fate/Stay Night's prequel Fate/Zero.
This adaptation has the advantage of coming after Fate/Zero and because of this it improves the narrative and tackles issues that were glossed over or completely ignore in the Visual Novel.
I would like to call this anime a "Complete" version of Unlimited Blade Works scenario and in my opinion the best adaptation of Fate series to date.
If you have nothing to do this season, I would give it a go.

I made this piece to signal the official start of UBW in the VN, I didn't mean to make it into a review but I really enjoyed the series so far and I want to you people to know.
I know this is not League of Legends related so bare with me.
The Fate series is the reason I really got into games and anime and started to dissect them.
I started to appreciate anime as more than just a visual medium and thought about the philosophies and beliefs they taught and made me the man I am today.

Soon 2nd Season of Fate Unlimited Blade Works will be out. And also Fate Heaven's Feel movie will come, the best route in my opinnion

Really I don't want to be mean, but for I think the best route should have the main heroine.

But fate is great because of its story and characters and both are glossed over int the movie.

As someone who started on Fate Stay Night under similar circumstances, I wholeheartedly agree with your statements here. The original anime adaptation never really did it justice, but with the UBW movie, and then the Fate Zero adaptation coming out, the latter of which was almost perfectly true to the source material, ufotable has done for Fate what all of the long time fans have been waiting for.
I'd originally decided I'd just wait to pick up the new UBW series once it was completed, because I mean, I know the story of it already.
Then a friend linked me to episode zero, and I figured I might as well check it out.
...that was one of the best decisions I've ever made.
I was COMPLETELY unprepared for just HOW GOOD Ufotable had rendered it, the fighting, the camera angles, even right down to the body language of the characters!
...and then Archer just DISAPPEARED.
...long story short, UBW is EVERYTHING THE FANS HOPED FOR, and I just wanted to stop by to mention as much. Sorry about the wall of text, looking forward to your next comics!

I was first doubtful if we were going to get a truly faithfull adaptation of UBW because there was already the movie out.
I was thought for sure they would animate Heavens Feel for anime.
So I am really glad they did.

Yeah, some of the glimpses of the original trailer sent everyone freaking out because they were CLEARLY from Heaven's Feel route, i.e, Shirou with Archer's arm and so on.
Then they revealed that UBW would be the new anime, and that Heaven's Feel would be getting a movie later.
God knows how they'll manage THAT, given the complexity of HF, but who knows, we might get another series for that.
As long as ufotable is around for it, though, I think we can agree it'll be glorious regardless.

Yeah at first it might like 2 animes or half and half. But if you think about it, if you take heavens feel its gonna be a better movie since the last part of heavens feel feels like a climactic third act.

Man, Emiya really ruined FSN for me. I hate the "goody goody" self sacrificing hero. I liked the foil between Kiritsugu and Saber better.

And by 16 episode it shows they really did.
It becomes clear that once you take out all the "I wanna be Superman" beliefs he values.
What you get is a mentally unstable sociopath incapable of feeling joy unless it is for the benefit of others. If he can't then...he's just a hollow rock.
