CHAPTER 1

episode recap:

There’s some mountains and some water.  They’re on an island.  Kore is about a foot taller than anyone else in this group.  She’s not small. She’s got some blood in her hair behind her ear and she’s got a terrific headache.  She thinks she might remember some disturbing things about….um…surgery with craft scissors…but she writes it all off and figures that she just partied so hard that she remembers nothing.  She blames herself for not bringing her security guards along, so heads up, this lady hires muscle.  All around her, she’s now hearing faint whispers in peoples minds. So naturally she thinks she did something a bit harder than alcohol.  Meanwhile she is accosted by a nice meaning woman whose mind is full of lighthouses.  Kore starts betting on acid. Meanwhile up wanders Mr. Awesome Hat Grant who, fresh from being assigned babysitter is now everyone’s overseer.  He makes a short speech about how they’re all stuck here forever.  He’s not happy with Xander for assigning him this job.  Kore on the other hand, is rolling with the punches and immediately fixates on Grant’s nice suit.  I mean, come on, who could possibly Grant’s tailor?  It’ll be obvious later on.  Hint: same guy as his auto mechanic.

Synopsis:

Aging telepath Evil Overlord Xander has traded his youthful dream of joining the US military and using his superpowers to benefit humanity for over-the-hill cynicism, self-imposed exile on his private zoo-for-crazy-people Eynhallow Island, and a serious case of May-December midlife crisis.  And technically it's only kidnapping if she tries to leave.

It seems Kore also received psykic powers, and is starting to get along with the resident grouch.

Also of note, one of the unnamed civilians' thoughts is just a string of expletives' … maybe a bad day for that fellow?

his tailor, his cardiologist, his optometrist and his auto-mechanic are all the same guy... a sort of local jack-of-all trades, if you will...

Eynhallow Island is a little piece of rock in the Farallon Islands just outside of the San Francisco bay that Xander has been terraforming since 1977.  Population of inmates that Xander has collected over the years is about 10,000, as Grant has previously mentioned.
