Description

A happy Labor Day to all of you!

As a geek, weeb, or whatever you'd want to call me, I've had my fair share of waifus...fictional ladies I wished I could simply hang around with, but I really doubt I'd have any kind of shot doing more than that.   You fellow geeks know what I mean.  Who hasn't wanted to dream of meeting a character they've fallen in love with?

And for the Current Year SJW generation, because you have short term memories, I feel compelled to remind you that many of my waifus have been what you'd call 'strong women'.  You're the poor souls who obviously never even heard of (or just conveniently forgot!) many great ladies in TV, films, video games, and comics.  By the way, if your idea of 'strong' is really characters like Carol 'Love Me!' Danvers or Abbyzilla, you might need counseling.

I'm talking about characters that can literally blow most any 'stronk woman' of the Current Year out of the water.  Heroes like Wonder Woman.  (She's been around for a REALLY long time.)  Susan Richards.  Princess Leia.  Ellen Ripley.  1980's Teela and the Sorceress from He-Man's cartoon.  Xena alone would scare the hell out of slacktivists in the Current Year.  All of those great fictional ladies were waifus for me to one level or another.  Well, Susan was married to Reed and I wouldn't get in the way of that...same for Leia being meant for Han, but still, I can dream of meeting them!

Another great lady you 'woke' need to be reminded of was born in 1993, two years before Xena came along.  She's the warrior princess you see above:  Kitana, who made her debut in MORTAL KOMBAT 2.  Yes, I count Sonya and Sindel as really damn awesome too, but Kitana has always held a special place in my heart with her tragic backstory and rise to become a noble force trying to save everybody from the likes of Shao Khan and Shang Tsung.  MK's overall story was inconsistent and muddy as hell...for instance, someone please explain the rules of the tournament itself again?...mainly because the story kind of took a back seat to the bloody martial kombat at first.  But when Ed and Midway DID start to take things seriously...then things got convoluted.  Seriously so.  If you're a fan, you know what I'm hinting about.

It was bad enough that Kitana and her mom Sindel were done a disservice by the writers after the big Reset, they STILL couldn't be consistent.  For instance, Jax could be saved from being a Revenant, but Kitana among others couldn't?  How did that among other things (like a certain 'heel turn' I mentioned before) make any damn sense?

I'm sorry, but that's how much I care about characters I love.  If you love Carol Danvers, whether she was written well long ago or definitely not in the Current Year, you'll hopefully understand.  I couldn't just let my art speak for how much I'll always be into one of my first waifus! :333
