I like this concept a lot, esp. how everything seems to be floating upwards. I'm a fan of chess, wood models, and surrealism. I like how the acrylic has a watercolor quality, though I'm not sure if that's intentional. The background and foreground are consistent, save for the unfinished wood model. The composition and lighting seems fine. IMO, to improve it there's only one direction you could go and that would be to clean it up. For example, sharpen the edges of the chess squares so the colors don't smear over and to darken the darkest colors for more contrast.
