Mamoru Ikari - also known as either Mamoru Chiba or Darien Shields - is one of the oldest sons of Seto Phenex and Yui Ikari as well as Prince in the powerful Ikari-Phenex Devil Clan of the Netherworld Empire.

As he is chosen to engage Princess Serena li Britannia as a way bringing the their families together, Mamoru proves ot be quite respectable and skilled in diplomacy as well as the ways of the warrior. Although a martial artist, Mamoru realizes that his skills are no where near his little brother Shinji Ikari.

He soon becomes a student of Anthony Vermillion, reaching the rank of 4th dan black belt in both Kyokugenryu Karate and Judo.

Known by his costumed persona of Tuxedo Mask, he has fought alongside the Sailor Scouts against the Negaverse but the machinations of his Crytal Tokyo self causes him to break off his engagement to Serena....Only to reconcile with her but the incident causes a rift between him and Shinji.

Mamoru is a regular pariticipant of the Valkyrie Densetsu and Neo-League tournaments yet is also a young man who wishes to tests the limits of his skills by challenging other fighters. His adopted sister - actually his cousin before being adopted - Lita Kino Uchiha is his friendly nemesis but he also has Haruka Tenoh and Hiraki Minami as his chief rivals as well.

However, Mamoru never had a close bond with Shinji before his initial break up with Serena and after that incident, they became complete strangers to the point that Mamoru agrees to remove Shinji as the Crown Prince mainly to ease the heavy responsibilities.

But this is seen as a betrayal and it was made worse when Mamoru became a candidate to replace his little brother. Mamoru refuses to accept yet the damage had already been done.

During the 2016-2020 period, Mamoru was horrified to witness Shinji not only becoming the new Dark Lord of Chaos but wages a vicious campaign of venegance against all who had betrayed him.

Mamoru is devastated when told that his engagement to Serena is terminated by Nobunaga li Britannia, who then brands him a Girisezu (Without honor) and thus is stripped of everything once word of the Ikari-Phenex Clan's abolishment broke.

Depressed and realizing the gravity of his mistakes, Mamoru felt absolutely useless to everyone while removing his name tablet from the Wolf Dojo's walls. He was the 4th person to do so in 2016 and would disappear for two whole years before resurfacing.

He played a role in the Superhero Civil War of 2019 and while he is able to have his engagement to Serena reinstated, his relationship with Shinji would take much time rebuilding.
