This is helpful in finding people, as well, essentially making Bunko a person-to-person radar detector of sorts, able to scope out an individual when needed. Also makes it easier to tell, when reading someone, if their aura is currently at peace or in distress.

HistorySomething of an enigma, Bunko is a peculiar and mysterious figure that haunts the streets of Mizuyama at all hours of the day. Few know more of them than simply their name, Usami Bunko, and that-- while armed with a wealth of knowledge and bizarre trinkets, which can come in great handy-- they can be quite annoying, as well.
The exact town where Bunko was born is unknown, as is their birth sex-- a curiosity among Mizuyama villagers, though Bunko either doesn't seem to notice or care. Evidently, Bunko supposedly grew up in a very poor home, among the eldest of many, many siblings. At a young age, they began digging through their neighbors' trash, to support their family by peddling any belongs of value that the neighborhood had unknowingly thrown away. While gathering wares from the neighbors' trash, Bunko soon found that they would often overhear private conversation and gossip that occurred within the houses. It was by mistake that they would later learn that people seem to pay a lot more for the brokering of information and secrets than simple garbage.
Eager to get ahead in life, Bunko took this bit of twisted experience to heart as they grew up, and became more experienced in peddling all the while. By the time they reached adulthood, Bunko had left school and gone to selling merchandise full-time-- mostly flowers (purchased wholesale from a florist), small trinkets, and lucky charms. Not on display in their cart, however, is the fact that they broker information under the table-- even collect it, if requested-- anything, at a price.
It is rumored that the reason Bunko left their home village and ended up in Mizuyama in the first place was that their sale of secrets had lead to a major political scandal that swept the town, and they were in danger of being discovered and apprehended in the subsequent investigation (In other tellings, Bunko was actually caught, and could potentially be a convict on the run, but that is considered much less likely). Regardless, Bunko now calls Mizuyama home, an omnipresent figure on its streets, with the uncanny ability to appear nearby at the mere mention of their name (usually to try to sell you stuff you don't want, at that)
Extras
- Wears tall geta to make themself look taller
- Kind of money-hungry, always on the lookout for a way to make a quick buck. In the same vein, they are also a notorious penny-pincher, who will go to ridiculous lengths to save a few hard-earned cents.
- Seems to have issues with insomnia, and can often be found wandering the streets at night.
- Has a habit of nibbling on their lower lip. When stressed,they sometimes nibble so much it bleeds a little-- considered by their friends to be a telltale sign that Bunko is upset.
- I, the creator of the character, did not even pick a sex for Bunko when creating them, so don't bother asking what's in their pants. At this point, it's literally undetermined.
- An easy way to make them flustered and angry is to tug on one of their floppy ears, or poke their tail and run
- Being out in the cold (without sufficiently warm clothes, at least) makes them sleepy
