History:

Abandoned at birth by her single mother, Bao was adopted in infancy by a wealthy, older couple who had always been unable to conceive, themselves. As far as they were aware, the sun rose and set over their baby Bao Min, a very intelligent child who hit many of her developmental milestones-- such as speaking and reading-- earlier than most children.

It became apparent early in her schooling that the bookish, teacher's pet Bao had issues with other students-- or rather, that they seemed to take issue with her. She came home with marker on her clothes and bruises on her skin, and yet for the first couple years or so, insisted there was nothing wrong, and that she'd simply been clumsy. Instead, she bottled up her emotions, and retreated alone to her magical girl anime and books and whatnot. After a while, however, it began to grate on her, and, without revealing her initial intentions, asked her parents if she could enroll in martial arts classes after her daily piano practice and lessons. They agreed, and she immediately excelled at fighting.

The bullying continued for some time-- almost through middle school-- until finally, Bao Min decided she'd had enough, and upon being cornered by a group of tormentors one day, she fought back. She successfully broke two arms that day, but also got herself expelled from Goldenrod City public schools. When she started her first day at private academy, Bao was surprised to see that her reputation preceded her. Having heard of her showdown-- but not the whole story, of course-- the other students were intimidated by Bao, thinking her to be tough, sometimes even a bully herself.

Thinking this the only way to get people to respect and listen to her, Bao decided to play along with their misconceptions of who she was, and quickly settled into her role as the tough guy on campus. When she eventually graduated middle school and moved on to high school, she enrolled in Ajisai Academy, as she was unable to attend just about any other local school, but she's found it to her liking so far.
