In Specimen B-28 Defending ships use a gyro wheel that attaches to the hull so they can ride the surface of the much larger craft. So every ship has a different way to deploy their gyro wheel. So the difference is just the gyro wheel, but incorporating into designs has been quite difficult. Especially on this ship.

Whats really the difference between the fighter mode and the gyro fighter mode?...looks virtually the same
