There's a second version with a nest of eggs, so I think the tortle is a she! You're right about the shell, though - it does look like a knitted vest!

yep, it looks like a knitted sweater and welcome

Centauran In reply to Emilyahedrick [2010-01-26 23:30:04 +0000 UTC]

LOL - it actually is a fabric material, deliberatly chosen to make tortles look different from turtles.

This is so cool! Which program do you use, if you don't mind me asking.

Your eyes are working! Hurrah!
Thanks for faving Mone's tortle - she (=SoulNeverLies ) saw it on one of the Calumpset (link below) ploids, and wanted one for herself, so I did her a special - it has since given birth to a clutch of glowing eggs!
I use the program Vue 6 Esprit from Eon Software - it's like Bryce, only better, in my opinion - it's incredibly complex, particularly when allied with Poser. My version cost me $200, but was well worth it. There are more expensive versions, too!

ahoberer78 In reply to Centauran [2008-07-21 15:57:49 +0000 UTC]

I just bought Bryce 6, but haven't been able to work with it yet, it does look very complicated. You certainly do a good job. I looked through you gallery and I tried to fav alot of stuff, but DA being in such good high quality these days would not let me fav some things, I will try again.

Centauran In reply to ahoberer78 [2008-07-21 16:14:55 +0000 UTC]

LOL - thank you! I know Bryce is hellishly complex too - keep at it. I know that when I first started with Vue, I thought I'd never get anywhere, and even now there are depths to which I haven't yet sunk! I'll watch your progress.

Thanks! My friend ~sazzart suggested Bryce, I liked his work, he said he would help me out with it, but he has no idea how many questions I can ask...he might block me after a while!

I cannot miss a turtle!!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Centauran In reply to altergromit [2008-05-29 11:34:55 +0000 UTC]

I know it looks like a turtle, but it's actually a tortle. They snore very loudly, and can move at 100mph. One tortle is on one of the Calumpset ploids [link] but most of them are on Tortella, where Mone's tortle is ... or rather, was ... pregnant [link]

altergromit In reply to Centauran [2008-05-29 11:44:13 +0000 UTC]

...mmm... ... ...My dictionary doesn't show any tortle, it makes me think *tortle* is some *your own thing* ....or not?!...
...The first link doesn't work ...
...Oh well, I love *tortles* whatever they are!!

Sorry for the bad link - try this one:

Yup - 'Tortle' is one of mine - a cross between a turtle and a tortoise (with a touch of greyhound thrown in!)

altergromit In reply to Centauran [2008-05-29 12:46:12 +0000 UTC]

...Oh, thanks, this is working! ...Also your tortle is a tortoise with a wool sweater...

She is, indeed! It gets very cold on Tortella

altergromit In reply to Centauran [2008-05-29 15:22:04 +0000 UTC]

Oh my, now you confuse me, who was Tortella? I saw a pic about it (I think) and she looks like Tortle!! ...Or, WAIT A SEC, *on* Tortella???? ...Is it a place???

Centauran In reply to DigitalSmear [2008-02-19 05:37:23 +0000 UTC]

Thank you for ye fav. The earlier version was just of the tortle in a garden ... but I told =SoulNeverLies that she was pregnant!

👍: 0 ⏩: 0

HippieKender [2008-01-05 17:27:54 +0000 UTC]

Now the 2 Tortles can set up a play-date! Or perhaps they already have and were just too quick for me to notice?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Centauran In reply to HippieKender [2008-01-06 02:42:01 +0000 UTC]

It's a distinct possibilty - there are only two tortles, and one of them's a female, and pregnant, so a logical conclusion is pretty easy to find!

Thank you for the fav! The tortle is one of the many characters in ~Calumpset . They eat flowers, snore a lot, and can run at 100 mph.

Tangooooooo, marry meeeeee !!! ... ok ok, don't get panic, I'm just kidding
Thank you so much, I really love this beautiful tortle !! Her colours fit myself totally and the waterscape and incredible cute flowers around her make my heart and soul jumping from happiness !

May I use it as my ID ???

Have a mega-great New Year full of joy, luck and health !!!

Centauran In reply to SoulNeverLies [2008-01-03 19:23:51 +0000 UTC]

She's your present, my dear, so you may use her as you wish! She'll eat all your flowers and make scorch-marks on your lawn - tortles have been known to exceed 100 mph. Still - they give very good kisses ... apparently.

Happy New Year to you, too!

SoulNeverLies In reply to Centauran [2008-01-04 12:58:16 +0000 UTC]

so thanks again, my friend, see her on my brand-new ID
oh well, the garden is full of flowers, so she may feel free to have fun and nice meals there in. they do indeed, that's one of the reasons, why she fits me so much
