September G1 Feature - Beautiful Beginnings
Happy Hooves! It's September.
This month we are going back in time to 1982, where it all began.
The first My Little Pony toys were a set of six Earth Ponies, in what is commonly called the "collectors pose" mold.
The My Little Pony theme was first heard in a TV commercial advertising the original six. Animation cels from the beginning of this commercial have come up at auction.
"My Little Pony, My Little Pony,
I comb and brush her hair.
My Little Pony, My Little Pony,
Tie a ribbon to show how much I care.
My Little Pony, My Little Pony,
I take her wherever I go.
My Little Pony, My Little Pony,
Oh, I love her so."
The original six from the 1982-1983 season can be distinguished from their later releases by their feet. Year 1 ponies' feet are flat-bottomed, and later editions feet have concave impressions on them. For this reason, shorthand amongst collectors is (FF) for "Flat Foot" and (CF) for

Collectors ponies for the win! Minty was my first, followed by either Blossom or Cotton Candy...forget which. <3 I simply had to buy the 25th Anniversary set when they came out, even if they weren't quite right.

Blossom was my sister's favorite from the original 6 ponies (followed by Cotton Candy then Blue Belle)
I love the flowery meadow you've placed her on!
( Snuzzle was my first favorite because no one else seemed to adore the little grey mare. My next favorites were Butterscotch then Minty; my favorite sundae topping and ice cream flavor XD)
