I love the ray-gun theory, it's just perfect for people who need to rationalize everything, even magic.
'Of couse there is no Santa, it's just an old guy using mind control, so the kids get the presents they wish for.'
It's also a great way to make children believe in Santa a bit longer, after all he is cool with all his weird gadgets and his clones.
The last panel is the best though: 'their meat will feed the elves' what a beautiful X-mas tale.
