This is my thank you-- right now-- to those of you who have
ed this piece of art. 
One night in December of 2009, I was starving to do The Vampire Diaries characters. I was in my bedroom sitting late at night without my eyeglasses. Got a pen and newsprint scratch paper and started drawing. I wanted to see if I could capture their likeness once again without looking at a reference. I was challenging myself because I don't have an excellent memory. Don't remember numbers, lyrics, lines, etc. that well at all.
I did this with a regular bic type ballpoint pen (no penciling in), freehand, no glasses, no references.
I'm so happy with this drawing. Did I do a decent job in your eyes? I have another pic I did without my glasses and sat in an uncomfortable position just cuz I ached to draw Vampire Diaries. [link]

i absolutely love ninas hair at the bottom with paul, it flows so beautifully, its gorgeous
how do you do it? how can you get them so accurate with no reference? most people struggle with a reference so you are clearly very talented and totally awesome

Yeah! I have astigma. Things that are very close blur just slightly... so I have to squint to bring in a clear focus and that gets very tiring. I see fine far away. But when I wear glasses, there are sooooooooo many details, grass, leaves, dirt, designs, patterns become very sharp and pop out at you like high definition.
The girl in the middle is Caroline.

your lucky that glasses help, my mums eyesight is getting so bad even her glasses dont help, she could go blind

That's not good at all. My hubby is going through so me stuff like that too so I can relate.

i guess this is one of the things contributing to the subject of the note. how do you cope with it?

Faith in God, knowing I have someone to cry out to when I despair. He hears us. I ask for healing for my hubby and me. I'm asking him right now to deliver me from that job I work at. And deliver me into working with art being paid just as good or better.

so you choose faith and prayer to help you, i can understand that, it makes sense. though its not something i can see myself doing, i feel i need a reply, i need feedback and guidance.
as for your job, these things take time but with the quality of your art and how quickly you can draw im sure you will get the job you want eventually. just takes patience and hope and faith

Art classes. Well the closest is those tutorials. But we'll see. It'll be nice to do fast sketches of people and either send them a digital or mail it.
