Description This Slav witch is an old hag who rules over the elements, and flies through the air in a mortar using the pestle as a rudder. Her realm is the birch forests of old Russia, and she sweeps away her tracks with a broom made of silver birch.

Baba Yaga ages a year every time someone asks her a question. Her nose is long and bent, her teeth are made of iron, and her hair is long and grey from age. Typically she sits with one leg curled beneath her, the other dangling, and is sometimes known as Baba Yaga Boney Legs because, in spite of a ferocious appetite, she is as thin as a skeleton.

I see you really like the slavic stuff! I'm trying to broaden my horizons into slavic folklore BUT SCHOOL KEEPS ME TOO BUSY WITH HOMEWORK, AND PROJECTS AND OTHER SUCH THINGS.....I love school, but I hate homework ^^

Work's not much better.... I love all folklore, but recently I've got caught up with all things Russian, Slavic, etc. and I can't escape!

Great work! I was born in Russia myself, and know all the folk stories about Baba Yaga all too well! (and a few not very decent jokes about her, too) She also lives in a hut standing on chicken legs...

I'd do a close up, but something about that face tells me I don't wanna. *shudders* I guess no one ever told her about sound-proof headphones.

CatHowes In reply to Energetic-Innovation [2006-05-11 20:31:37 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I think I was pissed off when I did it, so.... I keep looking at her through, and she reminds me of the one-armed man out of the Fugertive.
