Thank u When it comes to shooting moving subjects u do need a SLR camera to avoid trigger delay

Yeah, my dad has a Nikon D50 so I get a lot of time to fiddle with it, unfortunately most of the birds have migrated, our winter's coming on and it's gonna be a strange one.
