What started out as just a random drawing of an eye eventually evolved untilβ¦this happened.I had no plans for doing something so dang DETAILED, but alas, a nearly 18 hour car ride does weird things to you...
I took elements from a big cat to make this. I was originally going for a big cat. But somehow. DRAGON. Dragon happened.
A dragon without scales, nonetheless Whut.
So anyway, this is all done in pencil, while the attempted fire recreation there was done by erasing bits of the graphite. No reference was used for this, so I hope it looks okay!

Psh, if there's ANYONE to blame for disappearing without a trace, it's me. These past few months have been brutal life-wise, in the sense that I haven't had time to make anything decent to submit. That, and I haven't been updating like I should be. Lol.Β

Complete awesomeness! I did a similar thing last weekend, started doodling an eye and it turned into a dragon somehow... though I have no idea how to continue.
Epic use of contrast with the pencil on the texture anyway, I love how it lacks scales so lets call it a furry dragon

Holy crap this is intense!! You are so talented with like a billion mediums (media is the technical word but it didn't sound right, so grammar can do one for now). MOTHER-OF- 18 hours!? I can cross my country and more (vertically!) in that time I love the dragon with no scales concept. It reminds me a bit of Spirited Away, and the traditional Chinese Dragons

Wow, this turned out fantastically! Grayscale always makes things look that much more dramatic. I'm glad you decided to only show one half of its face; I think it adds to the composition, especially with those gorgeously detailed flames (you'll have to show me how you did that). An awesome piece of work! You should be proud.
