Description This is a thanks card for my grandparents because they're funding my college. I was surprised they agreed to it since the only time I recall seeing them was for a day or two in 4th grade. Funding someone you might not even remember meeting-- now that's generous. I'm poor and can't get them anything as thanks, so the design that was put into this was well thought-out.

Prismacolor markers, FC and Prismacolor pencils, and micropigment liner on vellum bristol.

That's very kind of them! The face and the coloring on it is beautiful, and I really like the designs you used for the border.

Wow~ the explanation on the characters helped a lot, too. I think this is a beautiful picture - they sound like great people, who have great faith in you! You had to have done something, at some time, to impress them very much that they'd take that "risk" with you - they must have figured it would pay off!

Amazing picture, as well~

They mean 'thank you' in Chinese, are written as xiexie in pingyin, and are read sort of like 'shieuh-shieuh'. The tone is also important in pronunciation, but is difficult to explain in text. It's sort of read in a scolding tone, like if you'd tell a pet 'no!'.
