Finally Free - Dream Theater

Salvatore brothers Damon (left) and Stefan (right) + the beautiful Elena from the TV-Show The Vampire Diaries. I got a whole lot of requests, at least 20 of them, for a Vampire Diaries drawing. So who am I to not listen to your calls. ;D

If you don't know what this TV-Show is all about, then you probably don't know how to interpret this drawing.

2 seperate drawings blended into one. While Elena is still whole, each of the brothers both appear in a different frame.

Let me explain:
Elena, the girl, is torn in a never-ending battle between 2 brothers, Damon and Stefan, who are both vampires for over 145 years. While Stefan has a relationship with Elena, Damon went searching for Katherine, the vampire who turned them. She is a relative (and therefore a lookalike) of Elena.
However, he never found her.

Eventually, Damon fell for Elena, even though he doesn't fully admit it. Which makes Stefan act suspicious and annoyed, as both brothers used to date Katherine back in the day. It's the same old Salvatore bros-war all over again.

My Facebook buddies had the privilege to see the work in progress of this drawing. Lots of fun discussions we've had :3 got some excellent ideas which I added to this drawing. Therefore, thank you, dear Facebook people. <3

Spent over 50 hours on this drawing. Drawing 10 hours a day made me nutty. Or nuttier.

While the entire drawing was almost finished, I screwed up the entire left part. So I took half a sheet of paper and started all over again. This also means I now have two A5 drawings instead of one A4.

That's 30 hours wasted, my dear deviantART friends. 30 hours. That's how loony dedicated I am.

H, HB, 2B, 3B 0.5mm mechanical pencils for skintones + structure of Stefan
B, 2B, 3B 0.5mm mechanical pencils for all the dark parts
tissues, Q-tips and cotton pads for blending
mirror for discovering mistakes
A4 paper + A5 sheet for the redrawn part, Hahnemühle Nostalgie sketchbook paper
