i had that luck that in my academy we have subject called Graphics so we have that opportunity to work on professional equipment like for example printing press and very good cutting tools 1. if you dont have opportunity to use prass and you want to print some small format artwork (or even a big one) then use a spoon... yes spoon (like a soup spoon) you wont believe how good effects you can get with it. 2. try to get some good ink, find a printing firm/advert agency and ask them for a bit of it, thay have tons of good quality inks

thats awesome, wished my school funding would let me do that. i literally had to carve out of a piece of plywood. and after that i had blisters the size of thumbtacts. thanks for the neat info, maybe ill try to sugest that to my teach

yes its hard to get a good wood for that, if u cant get one then try to get linoleum, ask in family maybe someone have a bit of it or check in shops. That material is realy nice and easy to work with, much easyer then wood. Nice homemade Graphics material is also plexiglass, and you can even place and image (mirrored) under it to make the work much easyer then use some kind of needle do scratch the image on plexiglass. How to print it? give a bit of printing ink on a rubber os some cloth material (even some old t-shit) cover whone plexi with ink (make it very precisely, ink have to cover every scratch), now clean plexi from not needed ink (it have to stay only in scratches), place a peace of paper on it and "spoon it" PS. if u can find plexiglass then use CD boxes they are perfect for small images and ending effect looks almost like copperplate.
