Taken at a teaching farm that school kids have field trips at to learn about agriculture and food science. The area I live in is very agricultural. Here's a fun fact about ag in Florida, Florida is where "cowboys" originated. However Florida cowboys don't call themselves cowboys, but cowmen or crackers.

Chicken!! It Looks Delic....I mean cute! and Interesting fact on Florida. I read once the cowboys had roots from the Spanish Horsemen (Jinnetes), and maybe it had to do with Florida's origins as part of Spanish colony at that time?

My family used to keep a few hen back home, and the baby chicks are awesome to play with

Yep. It's all because of the Spaniards and their horsemen. Basically they turned cattle loose and would round them up and drove them to different ports around Florida to be shipped to Cuba and then wherever else they might go. The Americans got into the game after Florida got handed over to the US and it really became more prevalent after the US Civil War.
