“The sun, the moon, the wind, the stars, will forever be around, reminding you of the love you shared, and the peace she’s finally found.” – Author Unknown
My fellow Friends,
This drawing is something that has a theme to it that is really important to me and to so many others on this platform and in real life.
Last year in November our dear Cookie1992 sadly passed away and left a huge space in our community.
Even if Cookie and I hadn't talked that much in the past two or three years, she was still a huge inspiration for me. Not just art-wise but with the way she was. Back in the day she was one of the first people on Deviantart to get in touch with me, who supported me and gave me advises that helped me up until this day.
When I think back, I can only regret, that I haven't talked to her in such a long time, simply because we had different groups of friends.
To honor her my dear friend Lonelyfries and a few other Deviantarts who had a place in Cookies heart, organized a beautiful Event. The special thing about this event is, that there are not only the typical classes but that there is a special Memorial Class specially to wish Cookie a farewell.
This drawing is part of this class. It is here to remember of Cookies loss, to keep her memory alife in this community. I can only hope, that many many many people decide to join the event to draw a memorial for Cookie.
Spread the laterns over Deviantart to remember her.

Small clouds of breath formed in front of the young Woman as she made her way to the guest stables. The air was fresh, the ground covered in snow as she made her way through it.
Her head felt weirdly light, as if she were asleep or drunk, not as if she was at a event, so extremely many miles away from home, that was held in memory of a important person of the equestrian world. She only new her from two, maybe three times that she saw her. Her memory was not even completely clear, as if it seemed to fade slowly. But Eiza remembered the kind words she shared with her. The bright smile whenever she was close her horses and loved people.
She had been a close friend to the Rowe Family, which is why the whole RDEC Team came to this event in the first place. To take place in her memorial.
It was the last evening of this event. The sun set already a few hours ago, the classes were over and the bonfire was lit over an hour ago. But Eiza felt the urge to leave this place. She knew about the ceremony that was planned to be held in half an hour, which is why she held this big, fragile latern in her one hand.
Her plan was to take a walk with Daemon, getting some fresh air, enjoying the silence and having some moments to think about her own life.
As soon as she stepped into the guest stables, some of the horses neighed silently. Their heavy breathing was clearly audible, same with every soft step they took in their boxes. The dark haired woman made her way to the fifth box on the left side, the one Daemon was in. The stallion looked at her with his big eyes, his ears pointing towards her.
Letting out a heavy sigh, Eiza put the latern to the side, grabbed the leather halter and made her way into Daemons box. After giving him a quick cuddle, she haltered him, before she opened the door completely, grabbed the latern from the ground and walked out with the stallion.
Together the two of them made their way through the snow, leaving the official path after a few minutes to get to a open field near the stables. There Eiza stood, leaning against the black stallion, who stood relaxed beside her, his head lowered.
Eiza didn't really look at the time. She stood there, with her eyes closed, breathing calmly and controlled, before she opened her eyes.
At first she didn't quit understand what she saw. Yellow dots appeared in the air somewhere near the stables.
The laterns.
Without hesitation Eiza grabbed the lighter that she brought with her and lit the latern. It quickly filled and after a moment she was able to let it go.
With a soft movement she sent it up to join the others, while she followed it with her tearing eyes.
It took the woman a moment to realize what the wetness on her skin was. Quickly she wiped the tears away with her hand, but the next came quickly after.
She didn't understand, why she cried. She didn't know that woman, who passed, so well. Not well enough to be so emotionally touched.
But then it hit her.
It was her family. This memorial rather remembered her of the family she had lost, than the stranger.
Even if her family hadn't died, it felt almost as if. For such a long time Eiza had no one. Everything was followed by pain, when she thought about her family. Both physical and psycholigical pain. The loss of her brother, her father who ruined her life. The whole family that split up and only gave her the opportunity to run away.
She tried to hold the tears back, but the more laterns reached the sky, the more people took place in the memorial, the more she felt the pain.
The tears fell and fell and fell. Sobbing the young woman buried her face in the black stallions fur, clenching on him, as if he could take her pain away, if she just held him close enough. And somehow he did. The tears started to get less and less, until she only stood there, shaking. The stallion, who usually was know to be not all to patient, stood there completely still, warming her up. Eiza loosened his grip and stepped away from him.
His big head turned towards her, his ears pointing in her direction once again, as she leaned her head against his.
"Thank you.", she whispered.
