So i slept on this movie for 9 years and finally watched it yesterday and it was amazingΒ π€‘Β ;; the animation, the aesthetic just MMM *chef's kiss*first time drawing owls so there's probably a lot of mistakesΒ π€‘π€‘ but i had fun anyways :'D

Don't worry about mistakes, you did a pretty good job on this one
I'd definitely recommend the books. I saw the movie first since I was dazzled by the beautiful animation and the prospects of another series in my favorite, relatively obscure genre (animal-based fantasy.) First thing's first they're shorter with simpler language which is great if you're like me and the process of actually sitting down to read is a struggle. Second, the movie basically takes the overarching story first 6 books and crams it into an hour-long movie. Personally, I thought they did a decent job when figuring out what to keep, what to scrap, and what to change. Though, because the movie changes things, It's different enough from the books that it doesn't ruin or spoil the experience of reading them. Plus, the characters are more interesting and developed in the books simply because they have more time to do so. So, yeah, definitely check them out

(Oh and I recomand (sorry I really don't know how to write this word) to read at least the thirds or the sixht first book of the guardians of Ga'hoole, it's the books that were adapted into a film.
It's really different from the film because the film is more fore kids and the books countain death and battles, but it's great :3. A lot of things are in the books and not the film and there is also explanation to somme things in the univers that we don't have in the film. AND it doesn't make us like the film less because of all those differences even if the story and this univers is basicaly the same:3

You should definitely read the books next. Thereβs a bunch of them in the series (plus spin off novels) but theyβre great.
