Sooo like everyone in this modern day n age I love Bluey! I binge watched every single episode to hype up for The Sign and Ghostbasket when the release dates were revealed! Ever since I watched The Sign I knew I had to at least try drawing fanart, and since one of my most favourite parts of the show is the whole storyline with Chilli and her family ( the Cattle Dogs I should say) and since possibly the biggest reveal in The Sign being the fact that Brandy got pregnant I dedicated my first Bluey fanart piece to the sisters Brandy and Chilli! ( And I drew Brandy pregnant)

Now I know there's a lot of debate around whether or not Brandy being pregnant is a good or bad thing because of the representation she gives to people who have infertility and those who want to have children but sadly can not. I know lots of people have different opinions and view points on the subject and I think that's great,i respect all those people's opinions and i want to share my thoughts on the matter so I just want to ask that if my opinion doesn't match with yours then please be respectful or find someone who does share your opinion.
Alright? Okay. Now with that all out of the way let me discuss my feelings on Brandy being pregnant.☕☁

I personally think that this is a wonderful thing for Brandy and makes the emotional significance of Onesie even stronger, to me adleast. In the episode "Onesies" where Brandy makes her first physical appearance we see how anxious she is about seeing her sister Chilli again after four years of not seeing each other because of a fight they had, and considering Bingo was 5 years old in that episode it's possible the fight happend after Bingo was born and it was likely a result of Brandy being emotionally hurt by seeing her younger sister have the family she wanted after going through misscarriages while Brandy still struggled to conceive. Later in the episode comes one of the most heartbreaking moments in the show when Bluey asks her Mum why Brandy hasn't been around for so long and Chilli uses Bluey's and Bingo's onesies as a way to metaphoricly describe the reason to Bluey, as Chilli explains we see Brandy having such a fun time being tackled by Bingo until she runs away from her and Brandy reaches her arms out for the thing she wants more than anything, a child of her own. But then in "The Sign" when she attends Frisky and Rad's wedding it is revealed that she's pregnant and is finally getting what she's always wanted. The point made in Onesies about Brandy wanting to have kids was shown and made very clear but when i actually saw Brandy having what she really wanted ( or getting closer to when the baby's born) i sort of felt this realisation of how much she had to endure before that moment in The Sign. She probably went to lots of fertility appointments and clinics to help her have a baby only for most of the treatments to not work and/or she had misscarriages ,her mother passed away at some point, perhaps her Mum died during a time she was trying to get pregnant, and her younger sister had two kids and she just couldn't handle being around them so she isolated herself from them for four years. She went through so much emotional and physical pain trying to make a family and after all of it and reuniting with her sister and rebuilding their relationship Brandy's finally going to have the baby she's been wanting for (possibly) years . To me Brandy getting pregnant represents hope for infertile people who want to have children, giving these people hope that maybe one day they'll get to have their miracle child. I understand that for a lot of people this never happens and a lot of people would've loved to see Brandy adopting or have her stay childless and come to terms with not being able to have children, these feelings are valid and i compleatly understand why so many people are dissapointed with the direction of Brandy's character. I'd just like to note that having infertility is different for each person who has it, some infertile people manage to have kids while for others it can be near impossible to have children. And one character like Brandy can't represent every single infertility experience but her character can still resonate with lots of infertile people with different experiences.

So I hope you like the art and enjoyed reading everything I had to say about Brandy and her character direction. I'd honestly love to do more Bluey art at some point.
