Practice practice practice.I've been sick this past week, I thought it was a cold but it might be the flu cos I keep feeling more and more icky and I usually get over colds pretty easily ; ~~ ;
So I've been in bed doodling most of the day and practicing on my "realism". Soo far to gooo!!!
Shading is purdy hard, isn't it? e 3 e
It still retains so much of my anime style, which isn't really a bad thing, but I hope to someday be able to sit down and draw a realistic face with no problemo. It's always good to have a basic knowledge in different art styles, be well-rounded and such. And the more you know in one style, the more you learn in all the others. I'm figuring this out the more I practice.

I agree with you. I've been trying to draw a little more realistically too... but it's soooooooooo tough! DX
but I notice the more I practice realism the better my drawings get overall ;D

I don't know much about art, but I have been told that realism is one of the harder ones to master.
I know this didn't turn out like you hoped, but it is still lovely.

I don't necessarily see it as a negative that your attempts at realism retain an anime look. Anime is your main style after all, and your particular style is very unique and original. I could recognize your art anywhere.
This is the perfect example of your two styles colliding brilliantly to create something so uniquely stunning. This is gorgeous, and honestly, I am brimming with jealously.
